Episode 84: Isley Reust on Being a Transgender Activist, Musician and Producer

Today's episode with music producer, musician and transgender activist, Isley Reust. 

Isley is a transgender woman who is breaking boundaries in the music and TV world. She has a guest role in the new movie Mothers and Daughters staring Sharon Stone, Courtney Cox, Christina Ricci & Selma Blair that came out in 2016. 

She is the main songwriter for her band Spectacular Spectacular an all female dream pop/rock band. Isley has also appeared on t.v shows such as the Dr. Drew Show as a recurring panelist, CNN, Chasing Life, Glee, Faking It and the (Emmy Nominated Series) & GLAAD Media Award-Nominated "True Trans" a AolOriginals Series. Isley Reust also starred in a short film that came out in late 2016 called "The Forgotten", where she plays the role of a woman who creates her own world's and realities to escape her everyday life she is so desperately trying to run away from. 

She has also reached the hearts of millions across the world with her inspirational YouTube Channel and public speaking. Isley recently wrote music for the (Emmy Nominated Series) Her Story Show, a new-media series that looks inside the dating lives of trans & queer women as they navigate the intersections of desire & identity. She is the executive producer and host of a new documentary series coming out in 2017 called "We Exist", that is currently in production. On top of everything else Isley recently wrote music for the newly anticipated film with executive producer Mark Ruffalo called Anything staring Matt Bomer.
